Highland Valley

About Highland Valley

The Highland Valley Copper Project is strategically located in one of Canada’s most established copper-producing regions, immediately adjacent to Teck’s generational Highland Valley Copper Operations. With a focus on unlocking the rich porphyry copper deposits in the area, the project leverages the expertise of Metal Energy's experienced management team to guide exploration efforts and realize the full resource potential of the region.

Location and Infrastructure

The Highland Valley Copper Project is located approximately 180 kilometers from Vancouver and just 50 kilometers from Kamloops.  The project benefits from excellent transportation network and mining infrastructure given Teck’s well established Highland Valley Copper Operations. This location within a well-known mining district also facilitates access to skilled labor, support services, and a mining-friendly regulatory environment, all of which are crucial for efficient project development.

Geology & Mineralization

The Highland Valley Copper Project is defined by its location within the Guichon Creek Batholith, a prolific host for porphyry copper deposits, including the deposits that encompass Teck’s Highland Valley Operations.  Zone 1 and Zone 2 deposits of the Highland Valley Project is hosted by the same phases of the Guichon Creek Batholith that hosts Teck’s open pits.  This geological formation, characterized by large, copper-bearing zones, is well-suited for large-scale copper mining.  Zone 1 represents typical porphyry copper characteristics found within the Highland Valley region, while Zone 2 is distinguished by additional gold and rhenium enrichment—unique for a Highland Valley deposit.  There are significant additional targets that exist on the property, which has been starved of exploration capital and focus.  Metal Energy will focus on delineating additional targets and mineralization throughout the property via systematic exploration.

Exploration Plans

Metal Energy will focus on expanding known zones and testing high-potential targets. Key targets include two primary zones, with Zone 1 characterized by typical Highland Valley copper mineralization and Zone 2 showing gold and rhenium enrichment. Additional exploration will concentrate on the Billy Lake (priority target), Mystery, and NE targets, each identified as having significant potential for hosting a deposit. The program aims to define new resources through systematic drilling, mapping, and geophysical surveys to enhance the project's overall value.

  • 2024 Year End: Complete AMT geophysical Survey. New AMT technology will help identify large, mineralized structures known to exist in the region.

  • 2025: Drill test targets and large scale, systematic program to define extent of mineralization at zones.

  • 2026: Establish a high- quality maiden resource estimate on the Highland Valley Project.
